Srinagar, Sonamarg and Kargil Tour Overview

A Leh Ladakh covering Srinagar Sonamarg Kargil Lamayuru Leh Nubra valley Pangong
lake Serchu Jispa Atal tunnel Manali offers an immersive experience of the diverse landscapes and cultures of this enchanting region. Here's a brief overview of what you can expect.
Srinagar: The city is known for its natural environment, various gardens, waterfronts and houseboats. It is also known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts like the Kashmir shawl (made of pashmina and cashmere wool), papier-mâché, wood carving, carpet weaving, and jewel making, as well as for dried fruits .It is the second-largest metropolitan area in the Himalayas (after Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal)

Sonammarg: Sonamarg had historical significance as a gateway on the ancient Silk Road, connecting Kashmir with Tibet.Today, the hill station is a popular tourist destination amongst fishers and hikers, and following the Kargil War with neighbouring Pakistan in 1999, serves as a strategically important point for the Indian Army.

Kargil: is a City in Indian-administered Ladakh in the disputed Kashmir region. Kargil stands as a symbol of bravery, natural beauty, and cultural richness. Known for its strategic significance and heartwarming landscapes, Kargil holds a special place in the hearts of Indians and travelers worldwide. It is not just a geographical location; it is a testimony to courage, heritage, and the breathtaking charm of the Himalayas.

Lamayuru: is famous for its Buddhist monastery and unique “lunar” landscape, often referred to as a “Moonscape” by tourists. The Moonland Lamayuru landscape is breathtaking, and the Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest in Ladakh, adds a spiritual touch to the visit.

Leh: boasts of being home to several known ancient Buddhist monasteries, each with its unique history and cultural significance. Leh is one of the most visited destinations in Ladakh, and there are several things to do in Leh, including historical and artistic exploration.

Nubra Valley:is a captivating and awe-inspiring destination nestled in the northern region of India, within the state of Ladakh. This remote and breathtakingly beautiful valley is known for its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and the challenging yet rewarding experiences it offers to adventurous travelers. From the towering snow-capped peaks of the Karakoram range to the lush, verdant oases and the stark, rugged terrain, Nubra Valley is a true gem in the heart of the Himalayas.

Pangong Lake: is such a vast expanse of water it looks like an ocean with a backdrop of the Himalayas. It’s a saltwater lake and hence it doesn’t support a lot of aquatic life. One can witness very little vegetation, ducks, and gulls flying over the surface. I was left startled when my guide informed me that it acts as an essential breeding ground for a diverse number of birds, including a few migratory birds as well. Bar Headed Goose and Brahminy Ducks can be spotted easily at Pangong Tso in the season of summer.

Serchu: is one of the popular destination in Leh Ladakh. Find travel information, history, activities, sightseeing and things to do in Sarchu.

Jispa: It is a quiet little village located on the Manali Leh route and mostly acts as a stopover for people traveling to Ladakh. But that is not all that it is limited to. In and around Jispa Village are some of the best views that you can get on the Leh highway as well as in the Lahaul Valley.

Atal Tunnel: Atal Tunnel is the gateway to many destinations in Himachal, making the journeys adventurous and memorable. Atal Tunnel, formerly known as Rohtang Tunnel, is the world's longest high-altitude tunnel, situated at an elevation of approximately 3,100 meters (10,171 feet) above sea level.
Manali: is a unique tourist destination, nestled amidst snow-capped mountains and fast-flowing rivers. The place has emerged as a popular tourist destination for its ancient temples, adventurous treks, scenic waterfalls, and more places to visit in Manali. Manali is famous for its deodar trees and scenic beauty. Van Vihar, a lush and green garden, is a popular tourist attraction and a nature lover's paradise.
